Located on the corner of Monroe and Halleck streets, Veterans Park is a tribute to military veterans past and present. Formerly known as Triangle Park, Veterans Park was renamed in 2013 after the installation of a Blue Star Memorial. That same year, a conceptual plan was adopted outlining future enhancements to the park.
Omaha National Cemetery
The new 236-acre cemetery in Sarpy County, Nebraska will serve the burial needs of more than 112,000 Veterans in the cemetery’s service area for the next 100 years. This cemetery is the second Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) national cemetery in the State of Nebraska.
Heartland Veterans Memorial
The Heartland’s Tribute to Veterans pays homage to those who fought in World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and the wars since Vietnam.
20th Century Veterans Memorial
The busy crossroads of the Eisenhower Memorial Interstate System (I-80), and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway (Highway 83), is the appropriate location of the 20th Century Veterans Memorial.
Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance
Ground was broken in October of 2008 to begin construction of Nebraska’s first State Veterans Cemetery. The Cemetery was dedicated and presented to the public on August 13, 2010. The first interment was held January 21, 2011.
