Veteran’s War Memorial of Texas

Veteran’s War Memorial of Texas

McAllen, Texas

The mission of the Veterans War Memorial Foundation of Texas is to help future generations learn about the sacrifices of those who died for their country. The memorial holds annual Memorial Day, Veterans’ Day and Pearl Harbor Day events.

The western side of the memorial honors those who served in Vietnam, to the south is the World War II memorial, and to the east is the Korean War memorial. When completed, the World War I memorial will be in the northeast and the “All Wars” memorial will be in the northwest.

Also to the south are the “Organizational Guardians”, 105 flagpoles and pedestals dedicated to individuals, organizations, groups, families and businesses wishing to contribute to the memorial.

At the center of the memorial is the five-sided Spire of Honor. This 105’ tall black granite spire was dedicated on Veteran’s day in November 2013. With the help of donations, they hope to construct a memorial building here as well, to provide further education on the sacrifices of those who served.

The memorial provides a beautiful, solemn and educational site for any visitor, young and old.
