My name is Marty Ramirez

I am a Chicano, son of Mexican Immigrants. My father, also a soldier fought in the Mexican Revolution of 1910. I am a retired Psychologist. I worked at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln for 38 years. Currently, I am a community activist.

I served in Vietnam from March, 1968 to March 1969. I was 22 years old. I served in the U.S. Army. I graduated from Chadron State College in August, 1967. Drafted in September, 1967. And I got married in December, 1967. I had to make some major decisions in a short time.

I worked at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln for 38 years as a Psychologist, and even though I am now retired, I still continue to advise, mentor and listen to students and community members who know to turn to me when they need help.
